Gracht 7% Pale Ale - Anomaly

During my Anomaly days, we wanted to make our own in-house beer. But we had to do it our way.

We found our partner in Village Pump who bring safe water to communities that have no access to water for drinking, cooking, washing and other applications that saves and improves lives.

Amsterdam has its own endless supply of “dirty water.” Millions of gallons were at our doorstep in the central grachten (canals) of the city. So a few hundred gallons were hand pulled from the Herengracht and brewed in partnership with Henrietta Waal and Mediamatic.

After a series of trials and errors, we ended up with Gracht Pale Ale. A bitter yet delicious 7% summer brew made with the most excellent canal water.
